Your Health, Your Way

According to the American Psychological Association, 18-33 year olds are the most stressed out adults in the U.S. Are YOU in this group?  Do you agree? Unfortunately enough, this is also the average age of professional dancers.

1.What are you doing to combat stress?

According to ChaCha.com”Most dancers retire at about 30-35 some earlier some go on a bit longer, it is because their bodies can’t do the things any longer”

The Occupational Outlook Handbook agrees it says, “Dance takes a toll on a person’s body, giving dancers one of the highest rates of nonfatal on-the-job injuries. Many dancers stop performing by their late thirties because of the physical demands dancing makes on the body.”

2. What are you doing to alleviate the physical demands on your body?

3. What are you doing to increase your strength and endurance?

The OOH also states “The median hourly wage for choreographers was $23.19 in May 2016. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $10.35, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $45.39.

For dancers, the median hourly wage was $13.74 in May 2016.  The lowest 10 percent earned less than $8.69, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $33.34.

 4. How important is spending money wisely to you?

5. As a urban, street and hip hop dancer/dancer professional/choreographer what are some of your daily and physical challenges?

Take this time and seriously think: Whether its stress, anxiety,  lack of focus, lack of creativity, shin splints and back torque from tutting, waacking, jitting (foot work) bboying whatever it is please let me know.

6. If you wanted to go to a massage studio created for others like yourself, your health and your wallet what would you want/like?

(from services and treatments offered, to atmosphere to client incentives/benefits?

Let me know: Any information given will be taken into consideration and appreciated.

Thank You so much and I hope to one day you’ll visit Beats&Balance Massage Studio and feel like it’s your new home away from home! Rmember when the beats stop, let the balancing begin

Lack of physical care also affects the emotional and mental care and it shows in your auditions and practices. This is why I offera soak with every massage service.
