Benefits of Charcoal

Let’s be clear here. I do NOT condone black face but I’ve been using a charcoal tooth powder as a face mask and I can see how easy it is for Non- black folks to get besides themselves and post photos with questionable and sometimes blatantly racist comments.

NO.

This is not cool. It is not acceptable and no, using a charcoal mask does NOT make you racist but using a typical beauty routine to express your secret desires with race driven captions is.

So please don’t be that person. Don’t do it. Instead talk about the awesome skin effects of charcoal. Here’s 5 to get you started:

These are just the benefits of charcoal alone but I’ve been using a charcoal tooth powder  which has only 5 natural ingredients. It’s awesome because it is  a multi use product and lasts long. I’ve been using it for over 3 months. Today I used that powder with the honey mask  from a previous post to make a deeply penetrating moisturizing cleanser.

  • Use one teaspoon of tooth powder and just enough honey to mix thoroughly enough to spread across face with out clumps.

  • Let sit for 15 minutes.

  • Remove with a cool water rinse.

  • Follow with a toner and moisturizer or  just moisturizer

You can use water or even coconut oil instead of honey. The charcoal tooth powder is only $5 and is available for purchase from Herbalist Melanie Luna.
